AVEPA MEMBERS AND DONORS

Scholarship funding comes from people who support AVEPA's objectives & purpose. Theere are more than 30 students supported by AVEPA over the past 5 years. This would not be possible without the donation. Please contact us if you would like to help us to keep succeeding in supporting Australian students of Vietnamese origin.
AVEPA would like to deeply thank to all donors and supporters since 2014 for their generous contributions. The list is not exhaustive as several donors did not wish to publish their names.
SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION CRITERIA
Avepa will award scholarships to the Australian students of Vietnamese origin (according to the available funds) who can best demonstrate they meet the following criteria:
- They have achieved a high academic performance by having an ATAR score in excess of 85.
- They have applied for and accepted an offer from a university who seek to cooperate with AVEPA.
- They demonstrate they have a high commitment to contribute to the Australian community.
- They show they have the potential to become a leader and a good team player in the Australian community, with the capability for accepting responsibility and be visionary.
- They are committed to attend the 2 annual mentoring sessions provided for them by AVEPA.
THE PROCESS
- AVEPA will advertise the scholarships by December each year on the AVEPA website and will close at a date in January when studens will have been able to receive and accept an offer from their chosen university.
- AVEPA will chair a Selection Committee of persons with university experience to select students to be awarded scholarships based on their application.
- AVEPA will advise the specific university of a student awarded a scholarship and will confirm with the university the level of funding they will contribute.

AVEPA SCHOLARSHIP UNIVERSITIES
AVEPA scholarships have been awarded over the past 2 years include students commencing their studies in:
- RMIT University
- Swinburne University
- Deakin University
- University of Sydney
- Victoria University
Once the 2020 scholarship students have been selected, AVEPA will contact the universities to confirm their cooperation in increasing the value of the AVEPA scholarships
AWARD CEREMONY
As early is practical in the new year, AVEPA will hold an Award Ceremony to present an AVEPA certificate and a cheque to scholarship awardees. The cooprating universities who agree to contributing to the scholarship do this by providing a fee reduction or a progressive payment over the year.
MENTORING TOPICS
Past session mentoring topics have included:
- Leadership -- motivation, team building and problem solving
- Systems thinking -- purpose, goals, critical elements and planning and management
- Project definition and coordination
- The elements of achieving success -- Success Principles.
